Summary Description

The Welder is responsible for welding the parts required by the production department. They ensure that the parts are welded according to the standards established by Les Industries Permo Inc.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret plans and drawings;
  • Adhere to specified welding requirements and codes according to manufacturing drawings;
  • Conduct self-inspection of parts and verify the quality of completed work;
  • Be able to use hoist and carts designed for moving welded parts;
  • Be capable of using a forklift;
  • Complete various quality control documents;
  • Perform grinding and cleaning to ensure cleanliness of parts before painting;
  • Inform the supervisor of any problems, defects, or non-conformities;
  • Adhere to required workplace safety standards for the position, wear mandatory safety glasses, safety boots, earplugs or earmuffs for noise, gloves, and any other equipment required for the task.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed High School Diploma;
  • Ease with teamwork;
  • Organizational skills;
  • Versatile and independent;
  • Resourcefulness and initiative;
  • Manual dexterity and speed;
  • Attention to detail.

Other Requirements

  • Mastery of reading plans;
  • Knowledge of tools;
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations in occupational health and safety;
  • Workplace first aid training (an asset).
